Dr. Wilson Miriti Kiraitu
Dr. Kiraitu is highly trained in gastrointestinal and weight loss (Bariatric) Surgery. He attended Alliance High School and University of Nairobi School of Medicine. He holds a Master’s degree in general surgery from University of Nairobi. He was a World Health Organization (WHO) scholar and trained in surgical gastroenterology at the University of Cape Town (UCT) in South Africa and advanced therapeutic endoscopy at Gemeli University Hospital in Rome. He has undergone advanced training in weight loss surgeries in many European centres. His main interests are in endoscopic weight loss methods, mini gastric by-pass, sleeve gastrectomy, and gastric by-pass.
He is the Head of Bariatric (obesity) surgery at the Karen Hospital. He is the Sub-Sahara Africa Endoscopy representative of World Gastroenterology Organization (WGO) and World Endoscopy Organization (WEO). He is the secretary of Europe-Africa HepatoPancreatic-Biliary Association (E-AHPBA) Kenyan Chapter. He is a former head of Endoscopy Department at Kenyatta National Hospital. He is involved in training of Doctors and fellows at the Endoscopy Department (KNH) Dr. Kiraitu teaches under graduate and post graduate students at the University of Nairobi School of medicine.
Dr. Wycliffe Kaisha
Dr. Wyckliffe Kaisha Otsianyi graduated from the University of Nairobi. He completed his postgraduate training in General Surgery at the University of Niarobi and underwent fellowship training at the Centre for Liver and Biliary surgery Apollo hospital, India. He is a senior lecturer in surgery at the University of Nairobi School of medicine. He has undergone extensive training in general surgery, liver/ pancreas surgery and obesity surgery in Europe and India.
He has performed many obesity surgeries including laparoscopic sleeve gatrectomies. His main interest is sleeve gastrectomy, mini gastric by-pass and the standard gastric by-pass operation.
Lina Njoroge is a practicing Clinical Nutritionist, who has had wide experience in nutrition and dietetic Programs. Having completed her initial professional training in 1994. Lina has over 20 years of clinical Nutrition and has worked for 17 years at the largest Teaching and Referral Hospital Kenyatta National Hospital(KNH) as a Senior Officer. She has also worked with the Ministry of Health at The National AIDS and STI Program (NASCOP) as Paediatric HIV officer and acted as the Nutrition manager between the year 2006 to 2008. Lina is currently a private Consultant Nutritionist and has consulted for various organization including UNICEF, PATH.AAR and Royal Media services on Citizen TV as the Nutrition consultant for the popular reality TV weight loss show Slimpossible(currently in its 5th season)
Lina is also a Health columnist for the Sunday Nation and has been writing for the lifestyle magazine since 1999.
Paul Abiero Konyango
Paul Konyango is a communication expert with a hands on experience of 11 years. He has worked with local and international organizations at managerial level.
His main area of specialization is in sensorial brand engagement revolves around creating and customizing sensorial brand engagement to deliver a richer and more rewarding brand experience.
He possess a thorough understanding of the science behind material construction and manufacturing, without which beauty cannot exist.
He has been a consultant in Local and International Medical Organizations in helping them achieve highest standards of healthcare.
He is currently a consultant at Equity Bank (Equity Group Foundation) and St. Mary’s Mission Hospital.
